The shift pattern for this position is 37.5hour/week participation in weekend working and public holidays Sat 9 till 12, 09:00 to 17:00 Mon to Friday.

The Vale of Leven Hospital is an ideal setting to start your career in pharmacy. The hospital offers the challenges and variety of having acute and rehabilitiation wards as well as outpatient clinics and specialist departments, whilst being a small and personable site. Pharmacy staff working here have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of inpatient and outpatient prescriptions as well as stock management. The hospital is situated in a quiet location with ample staff parking and transport links.   We are looking for an enthousiastic candidate to join our small and friendly pharmacy team within the Vale of Leven. Prior experience of working within pharmacy is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.  You will be an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as the wider hospital team. You will work within the main pharmacy department and at ward level to ensure medicines are provided to patients in the most efficient way. You will be involved in labelling and dispensing a variety of prescriptions including discharge medicines, and specialist haematology and cancer medications as well as controlled drugs. You will also provide a top up service to wards and clinics and organise the supply of essential medicines to these areas.   This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate looking for a career in pharmacy. The Vale of Leven pharmacy department is supported by the rest of the North Sector which includes Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hosptial and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. Some pharmacy support workers aim to develop their skills and knowledge and progress on to pharmacy technician training and senior positions.
