Post 1 & 2:  Neuropsychology
The post holder will be part of an area wide neuropsychology service which currently provides highly specialised assessment, therapy and consultation within the acute hospitals, neurorehabilitation services and specialist neurological condition teams. The post holder will have the opportunity to work clinically across all these areas whilst also having a role in service development, research and training within a specialised area of the service. The service has excellent working relationships with non-psychology colleagues and the post-holder will be required to provide advice, consultation and supervision, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

Post 3: Community Paediatrics
This Principal Clinical Psychology post will deliver sessions to our Community Paediatric Service based at Rainbow House, Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. Allocation of sessions will be determined by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and will reflect the need to meet the requirements of Children and Families in Ayrshire and Arran but are likely to be focused on East Ayrshire. You will be expected to contribute to the specialist Clinical Psychology requirements of multidisciplinary Community Paediatric Service and offer specialist clinical case and therapeutic supervision as appropriate to fellow clinicians. We are keen to attract an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist with clinical experience of working in and delivering expert clinical psychology skills and competencies from within Child settings.

Post 4: North Community Mental Health Team
This post sits within North Ayrshire AMH Psychological Specialty.  The Clinical Psychologists within the Specialty are based within the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team located in Three Towns Resource Centre.  The Psychological Specialty is a well-established and enthusiastic team consisting of: Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialist in CBT and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology. We have a yearly commitment to offer a clinical placement to a first year Trainee Clinical Psychologist on the Glasgow University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme. 
The post-holder will be involved in delivering highly specialist Psychology assessment (including neuropsychological testing) and therapy to adults presenting with a wide range of complex psychological disorders and severe mental illness. Within the Psychological Specialty clinicians have training and experience at delivering and supervising others in the delivery of: Cognitive Behavioural Therapies; Schema Therapy; Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR and Mindfulness etc. Psychologists in the team also provide dedicated input to computerised CBT/digital therapeutics and the adult acute inpatient wards. The post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to: service development, teaching, training, supervision of others and will work closely with colleagues both from the Psychological Specialty (when engaging in tasks such as assessment and vetting of referrals) and also from the multi-disciplinary team.

Post 5: Low Secure
Woodland View is an acute mental health and community facility at Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine. The facility has 13 wards which includes Low Secure and Forensic Rehabilitation and Intensive Psychiatric Care. Woodland View provides state-of-the-art surroundings for patients, staff and service-users. This post provides an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills in risk assessment and risk management within the Low Secure eight- bed unit. You will have the opportunity to work under the supervision and management of a Consultant Clinical Forensic Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological assessments and interventions. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to Low Secure patients presenting with complex needs including severe and enduring mental illness, addictions, complex trauma and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. In addition to direct clinical care this six session in-patient post will include teaching, training and supervision of multi-disciplinary staff to develop provision of Low intensity Interventions within the Low Secure setting. 
This post is offering an additional four weekly sessions within the Community Forensic Mental Health Service or other Adult Specialties to create a full-time in-patient/community post.  A Consultant Clinical Forensic Psychologist is employed within this well-established and cohesive MDT service comprising Psychiatry, Nursing Team Leader and CPN, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Social Support.  Additional support is provided by an Assistant Psychologist. The CFMHT is an area wide service and offers the opportunity to establish outpatient clinics across Ayrshire. In addition to direct clinical activity, there will be opportunities to develop a supervisory role for MDT members. Consultation with other agencies and the assessment of specific inpatients will also be available.  We have developed group work protocols (Low Intensity) and the post-holder could have a supervisory role. 
This is a permanent post. You must be HCPC registered. Hours: minimum of the 0.6wte 8A Low Secure but variation from the full-time split with 0.4 wte Community Forensic Mental Health/other Adult Psychological Specialty will be considered.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Psychological Services comprises of over 100 staff including Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists in CBT, Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology, Counsellors, Graduate Assistant Psychologists and Masters and Doctoral Psychology Trainees. The Psychological Service delivers area-wide psychological provision through the Professional Lead for Psychological Services, Heads of Specialty and Consultant Psychology Leads across the Psychological Specialties
Services are delivered to the population directly through specialist therapeutic intervention with patients with complex difficulties.   Psychological Services provides expert advice, consultancy, training and supervision in order to develop the psychological skills of other health and non-health professionals.   It also aims to enhance the delivery of psychological care across the whole healthcare system through formal contribution at strategic and planning levels.
The service places a strong emphasis on governance and has a number of internal special interest and working groups.  We provide excellent opportunities for CPD to support high-quality service delivery to patients and career development for our staff. The service has close links with the University of Glasgow, Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Programme and both the Adult and Child Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology Programmes at Dundee, Stirling and Edinburgh Universities. 
A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) is essential, as is experience of delivering psychological assessment, formulation and highly specialist therapies to adults who present with complex psychological and psychiatric disorders.  Previous experience of working within the NHS and team working in multi disciplinary team/multi agency settings is essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.   
We would welcome interest in this post from recently qualified Clinical Psychologists, as well as final year Trainees on a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme.
The applicant must be HCPC registered as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist.  Trainee Clinical Psychologists would not be expected to be HCPC registered at the point of applying for the post, but would need to have attained registration before they would be eligible to commence the post. 


Given our pan-Ayrshire service across three Partnership areas, a driver and access to a car is preferable.   

This post is permanent and is offered full-time. Variation in these contractual hours may also be considered.

An excellent relocation package of up to £12,000 is available depending on eligibility.
