The shift pattern for this position is Monday-Friday between 0800-2000

Your main base will be within the state of the art Laboratory Medicine Building at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. You will supervise and motivate Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA's) and Assistant Practitioners working in specimen reception to ensure the provision of a high quality, timely, and cost efficient pre-analytical service for the Biochemistry Laboratories in South Glasgow. Other duties will include the organisation of staff and workload to maintain efficient workflow through the department, prioritisation of urgent requests, balancing competing demands of routine and specialist areas and use of technical knowledge and skills to advise and support the staff. It is essential you have a HNC/SVQ 3/SCQF Level 7 or equivalent in a science subject with additional theoretical or applied training to diploma equivalent level and have an in depth knowledge of reception duties and procedures.​​​​​​​
