Consultant in Learning Disability Psychiatry

Full Time, 10 PAs per week

We have an exciting opportunity available in one of the UKs most up and coming and rapidly developing Cities

NHS Tayside is seeking to employ a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in the Learning Disability Service, both in the Low Secure ward in Strathmartine Centre, Dundee and also in the Learning Disability Assessment inpatient Unit, Carseview Centre, Dundee. The role will also encompass the provision of specialist Forensic Learning Disability Psychiatry reports for court, as and when required. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic service which is committed to multidisciplinary working and offers the opportunity to be a part of service redesign

The NHS Tayside Learning Disability Service provides care and treatment for offenders who have intellectual disability and are subject Restriction Order and monitoring through the First Minsters. The service also provides care and treatment for individuals who may present with comorbid diagnosis of mental health/mental disorder and/or challenging behaviour, who are in hospital and the community. This also includes individuals who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder

NHS Tayside is supportive of continuous professional development, and all of our posts include 2 PAs for supporting professional activities (pro-rata)

Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise, and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview
