Would you like to join an award winning clinical pharmacy team who are continuing to develop new ways of working in the gastroenterology team across NHS Lanarkshire?  

The gastroenterology pharmacy team recently won Hospital Pharmacy Team of the Year 2022 and are now seeking to recruit a part-time (16 hours) and permanent clerical officer who will support the development and delivery of high quality clerical and administrative elements of the service. You will be based in the gastroenterology pharmacy team at University Hospital Hairmyres and will support our clinical secretary with the day to day running of the administrative elements of the service, including providing high quality administrative and clerical support to our lead clinical pharmacist and 2 specialist clinical pharmacists across the 3 hospitals in NHS Lanarkshire. On a daily basis this will include audio typing tasks, liaising with patients regarding their appointments and treatments, as well as supporting our clinical secretary with managing the administrative elements of medicine prescriptions.

The shift pattern for this post will be flexible over 3-4 days/week Monday – Friday to suit the needs of the service.   

Knowledge, Training and/or Experience required to do the job

  • Educated to standard grade level or experience in a similar role 
  • Well developed interpersonal skills in customer care. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Good organisational and planning skills. 
  • Understanding of a range of procedures and processes. 
  • Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure. 
  • Proficient I.T. skills which include a working knowledge of Microsoft packages. 
  • Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
