We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered General Nurse for the post of Senior Charge Nurse within Ward 4D University Hospital Crosshouse.

Ward 4D is a 30 bedded General Medical Ward which specialises in Endocrinology/Diabetology.  

The post will provide an excellent opportunity for you to enhance, embrace and further develop your existing clinical skills.  

You will be required to work well under varying degrees of pressure and be able to lead the team through, at times difficult challenges synonymous with a busy fast paced medical ward environment.

You are required to have excellent communication skills and be adaptable to changing situations and communicate accordingly. You are required to have a genuine interest and commitment to enhancing patient safety through audit and education for staff, taking overall responsibility for safe effective patient flow within the ward area and having a recognition of the external pressure with safe patient flow within the hospital as a whole. 

You will be committed to lifelong learning as well as developing and delivering a high standard of individualised care to patients in an acute hospital setting. 

You will be required to work collaboratively in a safe and respectful way.  You should also possess excellent communication and time management skills and be committed to providing a high standard of care in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
