An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Radiographer to join the team at the University Hospital Monklands.

The post holder will authorise and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire and Supervise Radiographers and X-ray Helpers ensuring continuity of service delivery.

Imaging examinations use highly dangerous radiation. It is the post holder’s responsibility to minimise radiation dose and risks to patients, staff, relatives, the general public and self.

The post holder should have the ability to participate in Out of Hours working.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC Registration

Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level

Postgraduate expertise within a speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently. 

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.

Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensure that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality/area of practice.

Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.

Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification

The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative

Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.

Effective time management skills

Working knowledge of basic information technology
