This is an exciting and innovative role for practitioners working at, or aspiring to work at a high level of practice within an Emergency Department setting. Are you looking to develop your clinical and leadership skills within a busy, dynamic and innovative team? ED at the QEUH, which is part of the Major Trauma Centre for the West of Scotland, is a fast paced and exciting environment which offers significant opportunities and support to the successful candidate.
The EC-ACP role is distinct advanced practice and develops from extensive Emergency Practitioner/Advanced Practice. The role provides clinical expertise at an advanced level enabling a holistic approach to emergency medical care, providing expert clinical skills to patients and supporting their families within the Emergency Department (ED). The EC-ACP works strategically and in collaboration with the Emergency Department Consultants, as well as acute and primary care colleagues.
The EC-ACP will provide expert clinical care at an advanced level to patients within the Emergency Department (majors and minors flows), making complex autonomous diagnosis and management decisions, about patient care up to and including end of life discussions, utilising advanced skills and knowledge.
As an EC-ACP you will work across professional boundaries, undertaking the duties of a senior clinical practitioner. This includes being an integral member of the middle grade medical clinical rota. As part of this role, and level of responsibility there will be opportunities for you to be part of the team who takes responsibility for teaching and supervision of medical and mdt teams including undergraduate students, ensuring safe, evidence based practice is delivered.
