NHS Dumfries & Galloway Immunisation Team is looking to appoint 0.6 wte (22.5 hours per week) Band 5 Staff Nurse to the Public Health Directorate Immunisation Team based at Castle Douglas Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team modernising the delivery of local vaccinations as part of the Vaccination Transformation Programme.
You will be part of the team as we implement a cradle to grave service, where you will be delivering Pre-school, School Adult and at Risk Flu vaccinations, Pneumococcal, Herpes Zoster vaccinations and Covid 19 vaccine.
You will have a key role in supporting and developing HCSW vaccination programme
This is a permanent 22.5 hour per week post, candidates will be expected to cover clinics across the region as service requires.
You will be a first level registered nurse with a substantial amount of post registration experience. You should be motivated and self driven with a commitment to developing and delivering a high standard of care. Previous Immunisation experience is desirable but not essential however you should demonstrate knowledge of the child and adult vaccination programmes and the Greenbook. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication interpersonal and time management skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative and as a lone worker within a variety of settings within the community. A driving license is essential as applicants will be required to work across the region.
