An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse within our A&E Department. We treat approximately 10,000 patients a year including nearly 2,000 children. We have a wide variety of outdoor pursuits and events in the Lochaber area (The Outdoor Capital of the UK) and consequently see a number of patients associated with the various sports.
We require a NMC Registered Nurse ideally with current A&E experience or acute nursing. This post is perfect for someone who enjoys outdoor pursuits & enjoys working in a highly skilled dynamic MDT environment. We manage acute trauma care & critically unwell patients prior to transfer or retrieval. We have a Consultant/ Rural Emergency Practitioner (REP) led service who works closely with the Medical & Nursing team in the Emergency Department. We also have an Advanced Nurse Practitioner led Minor Injuries Service & Virtual Fracture Clinic to complement our Senior Staff Nurse & ENPs & highly motivated team of nurses & Admin Staff. We actively encourage skills development & education.
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work flexibly and as a part of a team.
We are looking for a caring person with a continuing interest to keep professional knowledge current, who enjoys working in a team- but has the ability to work independently with confidence.
