We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to take up a new position of Deputy Area Pharmacy Store Manager within the Area Pharmacy Store (Vaccine Holding Centre) at St John’s Hospital in Livingston. The successful candidate will work closely with the Area Pharmacy Store Manager to work with and manage a hard working, highly motivated team of staff who ensure the timely and safe supply of vaccines to assist in the delivery of the National Immunisation Programmes within locations throughout NHS Lothian. You will be responsible for the day to day operation within the Area Pharmacy Store and ensure maintenance of the MHRA Wholesale Dealers Authority. You should be a highly organised, flexible Pharmacy Technician who can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and enjoys interaction with other healthcare staff. You should have experience of management of staff and resources at a senior level with line management skills and proven leadership skills at a senior level.
This role requires an ability to balance patient needs, service objectives using organisational and people skills to maintain and progress this expanding service.
Candidates must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a recognised qualification at HNC level in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent, be a Final Accuracy Checking Technician.
The post is full time (37.5 hrs) and there may be a shift system if required working 5 days out of 7 with hours between Monday to Sunday 6.30m – 7pm.
