UP TO 6 SESSIONS PER WEEK

NHS Highland is proud to host Graduate Entry Medicine students (ScotGEM) in collaboration with the Universities of St Andrews and Dundee.  The Medical Education department is looking for someone to join our team to support ScotGEM Year 2. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our tutor team of Generalist Clinical Mentors (GCM) to support the delivery and teach 2nd year students.

The post is NHS Highland Additional Cost of Teaching (ACT) funded and comprises of:

  • 1 day (Tuesday) teaching at the Highland Medical Education Centre in Inverness
  • 1 day (Wednesday) teaching within primary care or equivalent
  • +/- 2 clinical sessions a week if not already employed within primary care


This post is ideal for GPs who are interested in education.  Full training for the role will be provided.

Educational and administrative support for this role comes from the Highland Medical Education Centre (HMEC) and will include induction and access to useful faculty development opportunities.
