The Information Technology department at NHS Orkney is undergoing significant development and expansion in preparation for Digital Transformation within the NHS. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Desktop Engineer to manage, develop the Desktop and IT Infrastructure.
This role will ensure that all aspects of the IT Desktop service (Desktop, network, telephones, audits etc…) are kept up to existing high standards as well as being actively involved in large scale IT project delivery (Next Generation Network, Jira, Microsoft Azure etc…) with opportunities for learning and development.
To be considered for this post you must be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels within the organisation, and demonstrate an ability to successfully handle multiple, complex and large-scale IT tasks, together with a proven ability to deliver work objectives successfully on your own initiative. This roll is involved in an out of hours rota.
Excellent problem solving and good written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, in addition to working well as part of a team.
