NHS Tayside are looking to appoint an individual to oversee our Porter Services, who can demonstrate excellent day to day leadership and operational and project management skills evidenced against a track record of successfully delivering key change projects and significant impact to service provision.
The role of Porter Service Manager reports to the Soft Facilities Manager, NHS Tayside and contributes to the strategic planning of Porter Services for NHS Tayside. The Post holder is responsible for the provision of a wide range of services incorporating Patient Movement, Security, Reception, Medical Gases, Waste Management and Mail Room as well as dedicated services to specialist departments and clinics including X Ray, Emergency Department and our Acute Medical unit.
The postholder will be responsible for the day to day leadership, operational management and delivery of Porter Services to all sites across the Dundee locality including compliance across the Porter Service for Fire, Security, Health and Safety, Risk Management, Mandatory Training, Budget Management, Administration functions, Recruitment, Waste and Wasteyard Management.
Applicants must possess a wide knowledge of general management skills and have a good understanding of the expectations regarding service delivery. Ideally the candidate will possess a degree in Facilities Management, or the equivalent experience gained at middle management level within a large complex organisation preferably in the Health Sector or equivalent. The postholder will have a strong commitment to performance management and be able to support and influence their staff accordingly in conjunction with the NHS Tayside code of positive behaviour.

Hours of work are: 37.5 hours per week
