An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse Practitioner Band 6 (Community Psychiatric Nurse) to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team based in the County Community Hospital Invergordon. Part time hours may be considered. The post holder will focus on actively participating in the delivery of evidence based patient care within the multidisciplinary team to support patients, relatives and their carers across the Ross -Shire area. The post is working with older adults who experience functional mental health problems and also patients with dementia. The post holder will work in accordance with local NHS and national policies including health and safety legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload of patients, providing supervision/ leadership to junior staff and students and will be supervised by the band 7 Team Lead.
We are looking for someone with experience of working within Older Adult Mental Health Services, community experience would be advantageous, together with a knowledge of dementia and older adult mental health as evidenced through professional development.
In addition, a positive attitude, excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously and flexibly as part of a team is essential.
For this position a driving licence and access to a car is essential.
A relocation package may be available to the successful candidate.
