Our Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. This post will be based in our Lumina Regional Centre. NHS 24 also supports Hybrid Working.


This Role: Public Protection Specialist Nurse

Working as a Public Protection Specialist Nurse you will be required to act as an autonomous practitioner responsible for developing and delivering a high-quality public protection service, in line with research and evidence, national policy, guidance and legislation. This involves providing supervision and support, development of local policies, guidance, and frameworks through professional leadership within the Public Protection Team and across NHS 24. You will be adept at synthesising crucial information and taking appropriate action with relevant agencies (Police Scotland, Social Work, Health Boards). You will be responsible develop, deliver, and evaluate bespoke Public Protection training programmes taking into account multi-professional teams. You will support the Senior/Lead Nurse Public Protection and ensure NHS 24 are supported to allow NHS 24 staff to effectively discharge their public protection responsibilities. ​​​​​​​
