NHS Lothian Pharmacy Quality Risk & Governance Service (QRGS) is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill this Advanced Pharmacist post. This new role offers a very rare opportunity to work collaboratively across hospital managed pharmacy services, secondary and tertiary care services to support and lead on national priorities for quality risk and governance services for the people of NHS Lothian. You will join a small team, based at the Western General Hospital, but with Board wide responsibilities, who are committed to the provision and development of high quality services.
The post holder will have an active role in the maintenance and development of the pharmacy services ISO 9001 2015 accreditation and co-creation of the quality systems improvement plans with the service managers; as well as the development of their own skills in relation to quality and risk management within the broader pharmacy service. You will also be expected to participate in national work for the education and training of pharmacy staff in specialist pharmacy services. You should have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and should have completed a post graduate qualification. Experience in the management and application of Quality Management systems will be key to success in this post. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in continuing professional development in the area of risk and quality management, which can range from diploma to doctoral level and will be funded by the NHS Lothian Pharmacy Service.
