The Pharmacy Department, within NHS Golden Jubilee National University Hospital is integrated across its multiple services and the pharmacists in this post  will work to provide safe, effective and person centred care for every patient, every time. They will work in collaboration with our friendly pharmacy team and be an essential part of the wider multidisciplinary teams.  Our patient-led approach to healthcare encourages an ethos that is open, questioning and participative; everyone is encouraged to speak out and be actively involved in the quest for continuous improvement and innovation.

This is an exciting time to join our Pharmacy team as we develop our clinical services and try innovative ways of working. As part of the Scottish Government’s £200 million investment to meet demand for elective procedures, our services are expanding to treat more patients than ever before.

You will be responsible for delivering the clinical trials pharmacy service across NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital in conjunction with the senior pharmacy team and the senior technician for clinical trials. You will provide pharmaceutical input into both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and ensure safe and effective use of clinical trial medication in accordance with all local, national and international standards and laws.​​​​​​​

You will be also responsible for providing a full range of clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care directly to thoracic, cardiac surgery, cardiology and orthopaedic surgery patients. You will provide prescribing support to clinical staff to ensure safe, clinical and cost effective use of medicines.  You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with policies on medicines management and medicines legislation. 

Hours of work are 37.5 over 7 days and the post will include weekend working, public holidays and on call duties.
