NHS Scotland Assure was launched on 1st June 2021 which forms part of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) Board. NHS Scotland Assure exists to improve how we manage risk in the healthcare built environment across Scotland. It encompasses some of the existing services provided by Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) and Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) in addition to the new services offered by Assure. 

The Post: 
As part of the continued development of NHS Scotland Assure, a new Estates and Asset Management Advisor role is required to help support the Digital Estate & Asset Management team within NHS Scotland Assure. We are looking for an experienced and qualified member of staff to support the work on the Estates and Strategic Asset Management agenda.

The Estates and Asset Management Advisor is a permanent post.  

The postholder will provide advice, guidance and support on a broad range of complex building and estate related issues to the Scottish Government and the NHS in Scotland.  

They will work together with the NHSScotland Boards on the development of Boards individual Performance Framework and Quality outcomes as detailed in the Annual State of NHSScotland Assets and Facilities Report and provide support to the Boards in implementation and planning. They will support NHSScotland Boards with the use of tools including the Strategic Asset Management System (SAMS) and the Assure Information Management System (AIMS) Common Data Environment (CDE), to support strategic estate management and development, as well as property performance reporting.  

They will work together with Boards on their ongoing survey and property appraisal programmes, advising on and ensuring consistency of data as defined in the NHSScotland Property Appraisal Manual. They will provide direct support to Board’s property and asset teams on asset management issues, covering IT issues in addition to assisting with data recording.  

In addition, where required, act as Project Manager to enable the effective delivery of Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorate (SGHSCD), NHS or NHS Scotland Assure projects.

They will explore areas of efficiency opportunities with individual Boards in areas such as NHS Leases, Rating Evaluations, 3rd Party Funding Issues in regard to property etc. including facilitating, supporting and participating in the NHSScotland Property Transactions Group.  

The Candidate:
The successful applicant will be degree qualified in a relevant subject and will have wide knowledge / experience of NHS estates and strategic asset management issues. An awareness of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Estate / Digital Twins and Common Data Environments would be advantageous.

Location and Working Pattern:
