Based in Scotland’s capital City the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) has a worldwide reputation for the provision of high quality evidence based cancer care and research. We are currently in the process of submitting plans for a new centre to replace the existing one on the Western General campus.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, appropriately experienced and qualified Senior Charge Nurse to lead the Team in Ward 3. The ward is situated within the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and provides specialist oncology services to Lothian and for the South-East of Scotland. Ward 3 is a 13 bedded ward of which 4 are designated Teenager and Young Adults with Cancer (TYAC) beds. It is the main ward for elective inpatient SACT delivery and the TYAC unit also cares for those with haematological conditions. TYAC area provides day treatments for its designated patient group.
ECC provides a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients with oncological malignancies by meeting the identified physical and psycho-social needs.
The successful applicant will have experience within a surgical, oncology or equivalent setting. Leadership and managerial skills are essential and change management and service redesign experience will be advantageous.
