Speech and Language Therapy Health Care Support Worker– Summer Internship – Band 3

Inverclyde Royal Hospital

Up to 15 hours per week over the summer months (flexible arrangement – some hours could continue term time for up to 9 months)  Are you a speech and language therapy student about to enter your fourth or third year of studies?  An amazing opportunity has arisen to join our adult SLT team in IRH over the summer months as a HCSW at Band 3. IRH is a busy acute hospital with acute and rehab in patients and an outpatient service.  You will join our dynamic, forward thinking, supportive team who will provide you with a unique opportunity to extend your skills and knowledge as you prepare to enter the SLT workforce after you qualify. You will assist our speech and language therapy team by following on with therapy programs with inpatients and out patients and assisting with preparation of materials. There may be an opportunity to gain skills in observation of dysphagia.  We are looking for a student with a keen interest in working with adults who ideally has already had a placement with adult acquired disorders.  There is a possibility of extending the hours during term time for less than 15 hours per week. IRH is accessible by public transport with Branchton train station a short five minute walk from the hospital. The hours are flexible to suit the successful candidate. If this exciting opportunity is of interest to you, or if you would like an informal visit please contact:-
