This is a full-time permanent post with various hours options: we would accept full time/part time/secondment 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Registered Nurse with significant experience post registration at a band 5 level in the field of addictions You will, in conjunction with the management team contribute to the further development and delivery of a comprehensive Addiction Service in partnership with Primary Care and Mental Health Services practitioners as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the prison setting.

This post is primarily based at HMP Low Moss however can be moved between the three prison sites if needed to meet exigencies of the service.
You will

  • be expected to operate as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team, in the role of the Charge Nurse to undertake the management of a service providing Addiction assessment, providing and evaluating a range of addiction interventions, to meet patient healthcare needs and contribute to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.
  • carry continuing responsibility for the management of staff completing assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care within a secure environment.​​​​​​​
  • be required to demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of Addiction issues and treatment options providing Addiction clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to this area.​​​​​​​
