Innovation Project Manager – CAELUS Project South East of Scotland

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Innovation Project Manager for the CAELUS 2 (Care & Equity – Healthcare Logistics UAS Scotland) project. The CAELUS Consortium consists of 16 partners including academia, industry, and the NHS. NHS Grampian is leading the “Once-for-Scotland” approach on behalf of the NHS Territorial Health Boards alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service to understand the benefits that Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technology can bring to the delivery of routine and emergency activity, respectively, in the 21st healthcare delivery model. Several Test Case Use Themes were developed as part of the first CAELUS project. The initial work for CAELUS 2 is already underway to develop specific case uses that will be used as part of live flight activity as well as modelling within the digital twin simulation. The live flight activity will be taking place in each of the Innovation Hubs and will also involve the Scottish Ambulance Service. This opportunity will cover all three healthcare boards in the South East of Scotland Innovation Test Bed (Lothian, Borders, and Fife). The post will provide operational delivery for the CAELUS 2 project which is Innovate UK funded and led by AGS Airports until June 2024. The remit of this role is to work alongside NHS colleagues and consortium partners exploring, planning, and testing how drone technology could bring additional value to the NHS in Scotland.
