Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in Dermatology: Band 7 qualified ANP or trainee ANP employed under annexe 21 framework - with ANP qualification and training to be completed within a 2 year period.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see Terms and Conditions).

Posts: 1.0 WTE – 37.5 hours.          Days:   Hours will be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dermatology team in NHS Fife as an ANP. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic and challenging role.
Comprised of two out-patient departments – Queen Margaret Hospital and Victoria Hospital – the team treat patients across the life span with acute and long term skin conditions, including those with chronic inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer. The ANP will work across sites, taking responsibility for a number of specialised clinics, to assess, diagnose and treat both out-patients and in-patients with a wide range of skin conditions including the prescribing of topical, systemic and biologic medicine. They will work autonomously at an advanced level and use their expert knowledge and skills to make safe and effective clinical decisions, and to provide expert advice to patients, carers, peers and the wider hospital on a daily basis – both at the point of diagnosis and throughout the patient pathway. They will be committed to providing high quality and patient focused care at all times.
As a senior member of the dermatology department they will work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating effective leadership and acting as a positive role model for others. They will be responsible for a complex caseload of patients and balancing this with conflicting non clinical demands on a regular basis, to ensure all four pillars of Advanced Practice are met within their role. The post holder will utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, research, education and management.  Excellent and professional communication skills are vital.
They will lead others, think strategically and communicate effectively. They will work collaboratively, influence decisions and outcomes within the department, and be committed to improving care in a complex healthcare organisation by implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines, procedures and policies. They will be responsible for developing and auditing the ANP service within Dermatology, in addition to creating and developing specialist dermatology education to a wide range of individuals.
The applicant must be a competent individual able to demonstrate self awareness and integrity in post. This post would be ideal for a nurse with dermatology experience who wishes to pursue training as an ANP, or for a nurse who is competent as an ANP who wishes to specialise in dermatology. There is an opportunity for appropriately experienced nurses to join the team as a trainee dermatology ANP under the annexe 21 framework. Training will be designed based on the competencies of the individual. Applications for a trainee post will be considered from those with the relevant experience, academic qualifications and desire to undertake such training.
