An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprentice (MA) within the Public Health Department of NHS Ayrshire and Arran. The MA will provide a qualification in Business Administration, and the role will have a focus on supporting our Health Improvement Trainers. The candidate will not be required to directly deliver any training.
The day to day job role will include responsibility for monitoring the training email inbox and responding to enquiries, booking people on to training courses on the online system, creating promotional content to advertise training courses on social media, printing and making up training packs, sending pre and post course information and certificates, following up to encourage people to complete evaluations and collating these responses for the trainers, maintaining spreadsheets of course attendees and managing waiting lists, amongst other duties relating to administration and training.
You will be supported by an external training provider to complete the MA qualification, and internally by their line manager and peer supporters, to ensure they have a network of people to help them learn and succeed. They should be motivated to learn, hard-working and have excellent organisational skills. The candidate should also be familiar with Microsoft Teams applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Sway and Teams.
The post will be based at Afton House, Ailsa Hospital, Ayr, but there is flexibility between our bases in University Hospital Crosshouse and Ayrshire Central Hospitals, and also the option to work at home for 2 days of the week. The working week is Monday – Friday, with flexible working hours between 8am – 6pm.
Please note: this is a fixed term opportunity for 1 year.
The Modern Apprentice salary will be based on Annex 21 conditions and will therefore be 75% of £25368 pro-rata.
