Mental Health Rehabilitation Psychology Service
NHS Lothian
Principal Applied Clinical Psychologist
Band 8B
Permanent post (15 hours)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to take on a new post as Principal Applied Psychologist within the Mental Health Rehabilitation Psychology service.
The Mental Health Rehabilitation service works with individuals who have experienced multiple disadvantages in many aspects of their lives. These individuals have frequently had early adverse experiences and/or have complex trauma histories. They usually have diagnoses of ‘treatment resistant’ mental health conditions, and have found it difficult to engage with mainstream health and social care services. The service works across mental health in-patient and community settings.
This post has been created particularly to develop the community psychology service, and will involve planning and delivering training to support community staff to work in a trauma informed way. The post-holder will also hold a caseload of highly complex cases, and provide supervision to other psychologists and other professionals working in complex environments. The post-holder will act as a resource to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues through supervision, consultancy and training.
Audit/ Research is actively encouraged and there is a commitment to the professional development of staff.
You must have a Doctoral level degree (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology and be eligible for registration with the HCPC and the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership.
