This is an excellent opportunity for a Trainee/Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join a highly motivated and dynamic team working across role and organizational boundaries.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will manage the complete clinical care for their patients utilizing an expert knowledge base and clinical competence in order to support multi-professional teams within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, whilst ensuring a high standard of clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health and Safety Legislation. As a clinical leader, the ANP has the freedom and authority to act autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, including prescribing, of patients with multi-dimensional problems.
This includes the authority to refer, admit and discharge within appropriate clinical areas. ANPs can work in or across all clinical settings, dependent on their area of expertise .Based within Renfrewshire HSCP, the ANP will be working with Care Homes and GP practices to provide assessment and care for the patients registered within these practices. The ANP will complement core services provided by the HSCP and will also work alongside community nursing and rehabilitation services. It is essential you are a Registered Nurse on the NMC Register and completeion of Advanced Clinical Assessment and Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber (V300) qualification registered with the NMC is desirable.
Training for the ANP programme can range from 1 to 2 years and is dependent on the applicants' current qualifications. A training plan will be devised to support the candidate and this will be discussed upon successful appointment. Significant comprehensive post registration experience within a healthcare setting is essential, some of which must be at a senior practitioner level. The shift pattern is; 5 days over 7 .
