The Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network (NDN) is an established organisation whose primary aim is to facilitate the conduct of randomised trials and other well designed studies in dementia and other neuroprogressive diseases such as Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neuron Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis in Scotland, including those of prevention, diagnosis or treatment. Dr Tom Russ is the network champion.
This is a high profile role with major responsibilities within Scotland. The post holder will manage the infrastructure necessary to support clinical studies in neuroprogressive and dementia research. The post holder will maintain links with the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) and with senior personnel from other research networks in Scotland – to allow collaborative research in areas of direct relevance to neuroprogressive and dementia research– and elsewhere in the UK – to allow larger scale studies to be conducted. The post holder will be key in providing the support to an entire network of around 36 staff in Scotland.

The post will be based within Ninewells hospital, co-located with the national network administrator, ENRICH (enabling research in care homes) manager and the Tayside clinical team. The postholder will have the opportunity to travel to other areas within Scotland, Nationally and internationally. You are an advocate for Scotland at national and international meetings.
