An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary, 8 month, post in the Major Trauma Service in the QEUH. The Scottish Trauma Centre Network provides all aspects of trauma care, from the point of injury to rehabilitation, in the region. At the heart of the regional network, is the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow. The service is currently looking to further enhance and develop by recruiting to the specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated OT to join the AHP Major Trauma Team in the South Sector of Glasgow. This post is essential to the delivery of the major trauma centre and are integral to the development of the rehabilitation model to ensure it continues to be innovative in its delivery. You will work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive Major Trauma service for the patients within the Major Trauma Centre which may include hyperacute patients. The Major Trauma service provides rehabilitation and care for patients with complex rehabilitation needs. The service will provide a patient-centred, goal setting approach to patient care.

The post holder will provide expert direct clinical care, which encompasses OT assessment, treatment and management of patients as part of the inpatient, Major Trauma service. You will clinically be responsible for rotational physios and support workers. You will support the senior team in developing the service and be involved in service change and QI.  

It is essential that you are educated to a BSc/Diploma in OT while being registered with HCPC. You should have significant post graduate experience with previous clinical experience in the treatment of Major Trauma/ hyperacute patients. You should have excellent communication and leadership skills. There is an expectation that this post will cover a 5 over 7 working pattern. Interviews will be held within the QEUH.
