Job Title: Specialty Doctor Training Fellowship in Palliative Medicine
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh
Salary: Specialty Doctor Scale £54,903- £85,554pa pro rata (dependent on experience) plus out of hours enhancement
Hours: 10 PAs per week (comprising of 4.5 days plus out of hours commitment)
Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months (possibility to extend for a further year)

Applications are invited for a Training Fellowship Specialty Doctor post.
The post holder will play an important role in the delivery of care to inpatients, outpatients and community patients in collaboration with the medical director, consultants, medical colleagues and our established multidisciplinary team.
Available from 2nd August 2023, this post offers the successful applicant a wide range of palliative medicine experience to meet the needs of the individual. It may be of interest to junior doctors keen to establish a career in this field or more experienced doctors seeking to develop their skillset. The post involves participation in training and educational activities as well as activities relating to maintaining clinical excellence within the service.
The post comprises 4.5 weekdays, weekend work (1 in 5 frequency, 9am-3pm on both Saturday and Sunday), and an additional non-resident overnight on-call commitment (1 night every 5 weeks).
What we are looking for:
Full GMC registration, a licence to practice and at least 2 years full-time postgraduate training, 2 of which must have been in relevant acute specialities (or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies)
- MB ChB or equivalent
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communication skills that are sensitive to patients and carers
