Both posts Fixed term to 31st March 2024

Band 5 - Salary Range £30,229 - £37,664 per annum pro-rata plus

Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata)

Relocation Assistance of up to £2000 available depending on start date


This contract is for a fixed-term until 31/03/2024 to provide maternity cover. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.


Health Improvement Practitioners provide essential skills and experience for delivering patient focused health improvement services in all localities across Shetland and delivering project based activities which seeks to improve population health and tackle health inequalities.


In this role you will assist in planning, implementing and evaluating health improvement activities and community based services.  You will be involved in a range of interesting topics such as mental health, alcohol awareness, poverty as well as lifestyle change programmes such as quit your way.


You will ideally have experience of working within health improvement, or a related field, or applying the principles of health improvement in another area, and be educated to degree level or equivalent.  Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to manage a busy agenda and work to deadlines, prioritising own workload as required.
