Are you a clinical pharmacist who would like to work in an acute admissions unit in a hospital setting?
We have an opportunity for a clinical pharmacist to join our enthusiastic, innovative and supportive pharmacy team in NHS Dumfries and Galloway. You will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary in the Medical/Surgical admissions units. The successful candidate will provide 15 hours/week clinical pharmacist service to two admissions wards to support the safe and effective use of medicines and support the pharmacy discharge needs of the patients from the two units. You will be an essential part of the Multi Disciplinary Team working within the units. The two units are serviced by a pharmacy team utilising the skill mix of pharmacists, technicians and support workers. The team supports the units 365 days/year with working hours between 8am and 8pm. You will cover the unit on Mondays with the remainder of the hours supporting weekend and holiday cover and development time.
The post will be ideal for someone looking to further their clinical/hospital experience and will enable development of skills within a broad range of services. This post requires the postholder to be a pharmacist independent prescriber or be willing to undertake the training.
You will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary in Dumfries, in a rural location in beautiful south west Scotland with easy access to Northern Ireland and central belt Scotland.
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary Hospital supports electronic prescribing,robotics and team pharmacy work closely with both the community pharmacy and primary care pharmacy teams. The post holder will be welcomed to team pharmacy where we are working hard to consider skill mix in all our activities and to drive forward our hospital transformation agenda.
The post includes supporting team pharmacy NHS Dumfries and Galloway to deliver seven day working /bank holiday working and will include on-call support.
