As a Maintenance Support Worker, you will assist in the provision of a comprehensive maintenance, repair and minor works service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde sites. Base location is the Vale of Leven Hospital.

  • You will receive a competitive starting salary for the Band 3 role of £25,468 with a final salary increment of £27,486 after continuous service. 
  • Annual leave entitlement of 27days, plus paid public holidays, increasing to 33 days after continuous service.

About you

You will:

  • have significant knowledge and understanding of a wide range of works procedures across the full range of trades and disciplines operating within the healthcare environment. 
  • work flexibly as part of a trained multi-skilled team as well as work independently to dynamically risk assess situations and faulty equipment
  • resolve problems that are non-routine (e.g. dealing with emergency situations or service disruption) that require problem solving skills.

You will have trained or can undertake training on the following:

  • Multi Skilled Training 
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (module) 
  • One day training course in Medical Gas Cylinder handling 
  • Basic Boiler Operation 
  • Health & Safety awareness training in Asbestos, Legionella, Fire Safety, Confined Spaces, Lifting &Handling and Safe Working Practices) 
  • Trained as appointed named person as per HTM2020 (Electrical Safety Code)
  • Undertake training as Competent Person with Limitations/Safety Accompanying Person duties ​​​​​​​
