Consultant Physician: Renal & General Medicine

University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking for a Consultant in Renal and General Medicine to join its existing team of Consultants, and wider multi-disciplinary team. We deliver the Renal Medicine service to the population of Lanarkshire, including comprehensive outpatient services, renal replacement therapies (including transplant follow up after 1 year), initial live donor assessment and native renal biopsies.

The successful post holder will work within the Renal Department, contributing to inpatient nephrology (including high acuity level of care and acute referrals), outpatient clinics and dialysis care, as well as specialty out of hours work. They will also care for general medical inpatients, and will participate in the acute medical receiving rota.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of services. Specific sub-specialty clinical, educational or research interests would be welcomed for discussion.

It is an exciting time to join UHM with the location of a new hospital now identified.  This will be Scotland’s first digital hospital which, through the use of available technologies, will enhance the patient journey and staff experience.  Clinical staff are actively encouraged to contribute to the development of the clinical models to support the planning of the new hospital.
