Department of Cardiology, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen.

2 x Specialist Cardiac Physiologist posts, band 6

Band 6 (£31,365 to 37,890) dependent upon experience.

Full time, 37.5 hours per week, permanent post

Applications are invited for these two permanent posts based in the Cardiology Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, competent and motivated individuals to be part of our busy and friendly cardiac physiology team.  The successful applicants will work across all areas of the department and will be expected to participate in the on-call rota.  Ideally the applicant will have, or be working towards either BSE or IBHRE/HRS accreditation.

Although the post is based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), there may be occasions when the post holder will be required to work at Community Hospitals within NHSG and at NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland.  Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a large tertiary referral centre with 922 inpatient beds including the modern Emergency Care Centre.

The department is staffed by 24 cardiac physiologists and 6 assistant technical officers.  The main department provides the full range of technical cardiology services from echocardiography to implanted device follow-up clinics.  There is a remote care service in place for CRM patients.  The invasive catheter labs offer the full range of interventional procedures from primary PCI to therapeutic EP.

Aberdeen is ideally located in the heart of Grampian; with the Aberdeenshire coast to the east and the Grampian Mountains to the west, it is a beautiful place to live and work.  There are a full range of leisure activities to suit all, good transport links with road, rail, air and sea.
