​​​​​​​We are delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity for a Specialist Occupational Therapist in the Edinburgh Memory Assessment and Treatment Service (MATS).  This is a new temporary post, to further support the development the role of Occupational Therapy in assessing those with memory and cognitive changes and improve access and delivery of early/specific rehabilitation as part of the dementia pathway .  The successful candidate will work alongside nursing and medical colleagues in MATS, and the Specialist OT and Occupational Therapy teams in the Older People’s Community Mental Health Team.
You will be passionate about our profession and committed to working with people experiencing cognitive difficulties, to ensure that Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment is carried out as early as possible to improve outcomes for people living with dementia/their family and carers.  The ongoing development of the MATS service is part of a wider review and  you will support the Occupational Therapy team lead to gather evidence to inform the evolution of this role and wider services using improvement methodology.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
