Job Advert

If you are passionate about caring for people and making a difference within your community, we would love to hear from you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced registered nurses to support the leadership of the nursing team within Ward 2 St Andrews Community Hospital.

As a Charge Nurse you will support the Senior Charge Nurse by being committed to continuous professional development.

You would be working within the team, contributing to team management and the development of innovative practice at the same time responsible for the assessment of person centred care needs and delivery of high quality individualised care. We want to implement best practice to improve our patient care and patient journey.
You are expected to have a passion for care and medicine of the older adult with a focus on rehabilitation, recovery and adaptation. We also provide specialist palliative care. All of this requires experience in delivering a high level person centred care and knowledge of complex discharge planning. This role involves contributing to the improvement of a health and safety culture to prevent and reduce risks in the delivery of care to our patients. Interpersonal skills, I.T and communication skills at different levels are essential for this post. The ability to manage complex situations is also required.
As a potential candidate you must demonstrate strong managerial, motivational, interpersonal and analytical skills.
The main roles of the post will be to take charge of the ward on a regular basis and act up in the absence of the ward manager. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will provide a positive clinical lead for junior staff, work collaboratively with other charge nurses and deputise in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. This post offers dynamic challenges with a primary focus on developing own leadership qualities and management of the clinical area on a daily basis.

For informal enquiries please contact Carol Logie, Senior Charge Nurse on 01334 465934

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
