Lead Practice Educator, NHS Grampian – Band 8A

(Lead for Health Care Support Worker (NMAHP) Workforce and Widening Access)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Band 8a Lead Practice Educator within the Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professions Practice Education and Development (NMAHP) Team.

We are seeking a motivated, innovative registered Nurse, Midwife, or Allied health professional to lead HCSW work streams and portfolios within NHS Grampian. The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with NMAHP Leadership Team to support the innovation, design, education and development of NMAHP HCSW workforce in line with NHS Grampian’s NMAHP Framework and Plan for Future (2022-2028).

Evidence of strong links with Higher and Further Education Institutes, NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and exposure to widening access opportunities is required to drive this role forward.

Applicants will hold a Masters Degree in relevant health related subject, a Post Graduate Teaching certificate /recognised educational qualification at SCQF level 11 or 12 and significant evidence of continued professional development

Excellent leadership and management skills, professional credibility and extensive Practice Education and Development experience is required to balance both local and national competing demands within this role.

These includes:

  • Leading on local and national NMAHP HCSW educational developments
  • Maintaining a robust HCSW induction and education pathways within NHS Grampian
  • Providing Professional leadership for Associate Practice Educators
  • Leading NHS Grampian’s HCSW workforce Project Board
  • Taking on the role of the Board lead for Open University Nursing and HNC Healthcare Practice
  • Establishing employability, widening access and career development Programmes for NMAHP HCSW workforce
  • Partner for widening participation with stakeholders both locally and nationally.
