NHS Lanarkshire’s Mental Health and Learning Disability Pharmacy team have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated clinical pharmacist to join our friendly and forward-thinking pharmacy team.

The successful candidate will have a direct patient-facing role within the older adult mental health service and have the opportunity to work with other mental health subspecialties to develop experience and clinical skills.

This role will deliver quality pharmaceutical care ensuring the safe, effective, person-centred and economic use of medicines so patients get the best possible outcomes from their medicine. You must have the ability to work well as part of the pharmacy team and the wider multidisciplinary team, as well as act independently and manage your own workload.

You should have a sound clinical knowledge, a commitment to quality with high standards of pharmaceutical care and a dedication to lifelong learning.  This post will be working at an advanced level and support will be provided to work towards RPS advanced practice accreditation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will also be involved in education and training of other professionals and facilitating the implementation of local and national guidelines as well as supporting the development of local policies and procedures.

The MHLD pharmacy team use Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA), electronic patient notes and digital solutions to support their work. KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

  • Masters of Pharmacy Degree
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council (mandatory requirement)
  • Relevant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice e.g. Stage II Scottish Vocational Training / 1st year clinical diploma
