The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are invited for the post of Programme Lead for the Value and Sustainability Programme, based within the Planning, Innovation and Programmes Directorate, NHS Grampian. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a senior management role within the health or public sector environment including evidence of successfully leading programmes of sustainable change. You will be able to demonstrate highly developed leadership, communication, interpersonal, organisational and influencing skills.

The Planning, Innovation and Programmes Team leads the development of strategy and implements programmes of activity and redesign in line with our ‘Plan for the Future’ strategy across NHS Grampian and our wider health and social care system.  This involves working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including senior clinical and management teams.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join our team for a 2 year secondment or fixed term contract to lead, develop, manage and provide assurance on the Value and Sustainability Programme which is a key priority for NHS Grampian.  This programme will deliver efficiencies across a number of areas, focussing on maximising the non-financial benefits relating to the ‘Plan for the Future’ whilst enabling delivery of agreed financial efficiencies.  The post holder will successfully deliver this via a rolling programme of projects, some of which will be directly delivered by the project team line managed by this post, along with working closely with other teams enabling these changes.   Delivery will be in the context of the organisation’s agreed programme management approach.

The successful applicant will be joining the team at a time of significant change for the health and social care system in terms of how we deliver sustainable outcome focussed health and care services across our communities now and in the future.  You will be working within a supportive and dynamic team.

The post is full-time and based in Aberdeen at Summerfield House however, due to the organisations hybrid working model part of the time will be spent working from home. The post holder will report to the Head of Planning and Programmes and work closely with the Executive Director responsible for the Value and Sustainability Programme.

Interviews will take place: 11th of September 2023
