Specialist Paediatrics and General Adult Dietitian (Ref: 150703)

Fixed term 24 months (with potential to extend)

Band 6 - Salary Range £37,831 - £46,100 per annum pro rata 30 hours per week 

OR

Band 5 - Salary Range £30,229 - £37,664 per annum pro rata 36.5 hours per week

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum pro rata

Plus A Relocation Allowance of up to £8,000


This post offers a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative and charismatic individual to join Britain’s most northerly NHS Dietetic Service, based at the Gilbert Bain Hospital, Lerwick providing a wide range of services across acute and community settings. The post-holder will play a central role in delivering specialist dietetic care for children and families, as well as a general dietetic caseload.


The successful candidate will manage a diverse clinical caseload and work closely with professional colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, effective, patient-centred care. They will also support the team in the training of dietetic students, medical and other healthcare professionals as appropriate. NHS Shetland provides excellent opportunities for professional development, shadowing and peer support including strong inter-island and NHS Grampian links.


Potential candidates must have excellent inter-personal skills, current HCPC registration and able to work innovatively and flexibly in order to optimize outcomes within a small workforce.


Newly qualified, you will have support to complete your Flying Start programme from the team, the local PEL and other newly qualified practitioners from a range of other professions within NHS Western Isles.


A development post from a 5 to a 6 would be considered for suitable applicants. We would also welcome discussions around secondment placement and/or hybrid working
