An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic RMN to work within the Drug Treatment and Testing Order Team, as a Senior Drug and Alcohol Recovery Nurse, based in Inverness, covering Highland wide.

You will work within a Health and Social team and be expected to carry out assessments, care planning, treatment interventions, write reports for Court, and provide supervision and guidance to junior nursing staff.

You will be expected to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills, including the ability to offer therapeutic interventions. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner. You should possess good interpersonal skills, a commitment to joint working and have specialised knowledge of drug and alcohol dependence. The preferred candidate will already be qualified and registered with the NMC as a non medical prescriber or be willing to undertake this training within the first 6-12 months of appointment to this post.

Applicants should be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with extensive knowledge and experience of therapeutic interventions appropriate to Drug and Alcohol Recovery.

Advanced knowledge of drug dependence achieved via an appropriate post-basic course or through experience and self initiated, self-directed learning. Significant post registration experience is required as well as relevant experience in the Drug and Alcohol Field. Driving license is essential.
