Advanced Clinical Pharmacist Cardiology (1.0WTE)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to lead the pharmaceutical care services to both cardiology inpatients and outpatients within the Medical directorate based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) which is one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK. You will lead the cardiology pharmacy team on this site and work with the multidisciplinary team in managing a defined inpatient case load, participation in weekly clinics and proactively seek to further develop cardiology pharmacy services in specialist clinics and management of day cases. This post will increase capacity within OP cardiology clinics to support the local recovery and remobilisation plans reducing clinic waiting times and consultant workload in priority service areas such as Clyde.
This post will require an enthusiastic, committed individual with excellent communication, multi-disciplinary team-working and time management skills to ensure the delivery of both patient-centred pharmaceutical care and delivery of cost-effective prescribing strategies for NHSGGC. The post-holder must be registered with the GPhC, hold a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent and be a registered independent pharmacist prescriber.
You should have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in hospital. Your experience will have been gained working in a patient focussed environment using your knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines including experience of undertaking research and/or audit. Experience of working within a Cardiology service is essential. You will be expected to participate in a 5/7 day work pattern, weekend working, Public Holiday service and on-call.
