Applications are invited from individuals with an interest in working in a hospital laboratory environment. Candidates should have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work. Candidates should be Educated to SCQF level 4 e.g. National 4 (Nat4), SVQ1, Standard Grade General, Intermediate 1.

The successful candidate will be required to perform a range of laboratory based duties in support of the delivery of the clinical services. It is essential that the successful candidate has proven knowledge and application of IT skills. The duties include the filing of prepared slides by lab number and retrieval of patient material other roles may include checking and recording of pathological specimens and assisting with the general housekeeping and manual handling duties of the laboratory.

Whilst nominally based at the Western General Hospital, the successful candidate may be required to work at both the Royal Infirmary and Western General sites.

The post is permanent.

Post is 18.75 hours per week, 3.75 hours per day Monday – Friday.  There is flexibility on start time and finish time, but hours must be worked within 8.30 am – 5pm.

Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
