Advert for 2 x Band 7 Senior Project Manager Roles for Value and Sustainability Programme

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Project Manager for the Value and Sustainability Programme, based within the Planning, Innovation and Programmes (PIP) Directorate, NHS Grampian. The successful candidates will have extensive experience working in a project management role including evidence of successfully leading and delivering projects. You will be able to demonstrate highly developed leadership, communication, interpersonal, organisational and influencing skills.

The PIP Directorate leads the development of strategy and implements programmes of activity and redesign in line with our ‘Plan for the Future’ strategy across NHS Grampian and our wider health and social care system.

There are two posts and these offer an exciting opportunity to join our team for a 2 year secondment or fixed term contract.  You will be an integral part of a supportive and dynamic Programme Team tasked to lead, develop, manage and provide assurance on two specific projects as part of the wider Value and Sustainability Programme which is a key priority for NHS Grampian.  This programme will deliver efficiencies across a number of areas, focussing on maximising the non-financial benefits relating to the ‘Plan for the Future’ whilst enabling delivery of agreed financial efficiencies.

First year of focus for the two project manager roles are:

Post 1 - Sustainable Nursing Workforce Project – working with the Senior Responsible Officer this role will provide dedicated project oversight and management focussing on progressing a sustainable workforce model.  The individual will work with key stakeholders to develop and project manage the agreed plan and workstreams, resulting in measurable outcomes such as increased job satisfaction, increase in recruitment and retention to substantive roles thus reducing reliance on supplementary staffing, increasing the pathways of entry to nursing opportunities and supporting specific teams around issues relating to the project.

Post 2 – Enhancing efficiency and value of the overtime process and the review of organisational management structures – working with the Senior Responsible Officers, this role will provide dedicated project oversight and management to two specific strands of work to ensure maximised value and efficiency.  The first relates to the review and revision of the current overtime process to ensure this enables the best option and value for specific services and the organisation.  The second strand is reviewing and implementing the agreed changes to the current management structure to ensure it provides optimal value and efficiencies.

Both posts are full-time and based in Summerfield House, Aberdeen – in line with the organisations hybrid working model, part of the time will be spent working from home. The post holders will report to the Programme Lead for the Value and Sustainability Programme and work closely with the Senior Responsible Officers aligned to the specific projects.

Interviews will take place: 9th of August 2023
