A Registered Nurse Band 5 is required to work across the Pathways within Specialists Children’S Services.
Main duties: Under the direction of the Team Lead and Band 6 nurse, the post holder will have responsibility in helping to assess plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients with a disability, developing the role of the Specialist Children’s Services Nurse in Additional Support (ASL) schools and Mainstream schools and in all aspects of the disability pathway. You will provide advice, support and training to Education Staff, parents or carers, to enable children with additional needs to attend school.

You will help support the Team Lead and Band 6 nurse in managing the effective deployment of nursing resource within the pathways and support clinical functions such as caseload management and supervision; personal development planning, reflecting knowledge and skills framework and the front-line monitoring of implementation of key policy documents. You will work with colleagues from Education, SW and the wider health team in Specialist Community Pediatric Services.

It is essential that you are an NMC Registered Nurse and be able to provide evidence of your post registration study, education. You must be able to provide evidence of continued professional development. You should be able to demonstrate good communication skills. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
