A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Rheumatology AHP Team.
We are looking for an occupational therapist who has excellent communication skills and an aptitude to learn and an interest in service development.
You will be part of the Rheumatology AHP team which is a GGC wide service and the base location for this post has yet to be confirmed. You will be responsible for managing an outpatient caseload for rheumatology patients As well as undertaking an occupational therapy assessment with the patient identifying their functional and ADL needs you will also be providing interventions such as joint protection, splinting, supporting working issue, helping to facilitate the Fatigue Management and Looking after Your Joints Groups, offering emotional and psychological support to the patient as well as referring onto other services i.e. welfare benefits, housing and community services. This role is grounded in the holistic approach to patient care and intervention.
You will be working within a small team of OTs who are situated across several GGC sites who will be able to offer excellent support and knowledge sharing in this field of practice.
It is essential that you have a degree/diploma and HCPC registration. Rheumatology experience would be preferable but not essential as training will be offered to the successful candidate.
