HEALTH PROTECTION NURSE SPECIALIST

The Public Health Department operates 7 day working, therefore weekend working and on call working across the region will be required.

We are seeking an innovative Health Protection Nurse Specialist to work within the Health Protection Team.  You will be based in the Department of Public Health at Cameron House and work closely with the Senior Health Protection Nurse Specialist, Nurse Consultant and Consultants in Public Health covering health protection for the East Region.

You must be a registered nurse/midwife on the NMC Register, hold relevant first level degree/post-registration qualifications and be able to demonstrate evidence of further professional development. You will be working towards degree/masters level qualification in Public Health/Infection control or similar.

You must have substantial post-registration experience. 

You must have practical experience of activities and procedures undertaken in the field of communicable disease management and control including surveillance and prevention.

Good analytical and judgemental skills are required to assess interpret results and choose appropriate care options and control measures.

Being able to travel efficiently throughout Fife, and work autonomously and in a team are essential.  You should be self-motivated and innovative.
