Health Care Support Worker 

Fife Wide

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join Urgent Care Services Fife (UCSF), you will support the Minor Injuries Departments within the North East of Fife predominantly but there may be requirements to support our Fife wide service for learning and development opportunities. The HCSW within UCSF is part of the Multidisciplinary Team and will work under the supervision of the nursing team, undertaking roles such as vital signs, observations, ordering supplies, maintenance of equipment, general housekeeping and supporting operational service delivery. 

You will be supported to achieve Level 3 SVQ in a healthcare qualification with further training opportunities available to develop fully into this role. 

These posts are based in North East of Fife covering St Andrews Minor Injury Unit, within St Andrews Community Hospital and Adamson Minor Injury Unit, based in Cupar. Both units are operational Monday to Friday 8am-6pm with St Andrews Minor Injury Unit hosting Out of hours Services after 6pm. 

To meet the needs of services, your hours will predominantly cover Mon- Fri 12pm-6pm but for training and induction, a requirement will be to attend our other bases in Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals. There will also be the opportunity to support cover at all bases within UCSF remit and cover public holidays and weekends as required.
 
In return, we are fully committed to supporting you with a robust programme of orientation, access to Personal and professional Development Planning, clinical supervision, coaching and mentorship. 

If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.
