The shift pattern for this position is Mon- Sunday 12 hour Day shifts.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic receiving team at the QEUH.
Our ANP’s assess patients, order and analyse test results, prescribe treatment by protocol and monitor effectiveness of treatment in liaison with medical staff. You will competently perform the necessary technical, invasive, physical assessments and plan of care for orthopaedic patients. We are seeking an ANP with a special interest in the care and management of hip fracture patients.
You will independently utilise a broad range of advanced knowledge, skills and theory in the initial physical assessment, history taking, physical examination and clinical assessment.
Experience of working as an Advanced nurse practitioner is preferred but not essential. You will have acquired extensive post registration experience in a relevant speciality and demonstrate excellent knowledge of hip fracture care. You will be familiar with the national hip fracture standards and evidence of involvement in quality improvement work is essential.
An existing qualification at degree level is essential.
Consideration will be given to applicants without ANP qualification who would commence on Band 7 (Annexe 21) until completion of an advanced practice qualification.
The hours of the post are 12 hour dayshifts.
